GAF Pro-Start Starter Strip Shingles provide a cost-effective, high-performance alternative to field-cut 3-tab shingles for roof eave and rake installations. These factory-manufactured starter strips feature properly positioned, high-quality Dura Grip adhesive applied during manufacturing to help prevent shingle blow-off and ensure secure roof edge protection.
Designed with pre-perforated sections for easy hand-tearing, Pro-Start shingles eliminate the need for on-site cutting, reducing installation time and material waste. Each bundle provides at least 50% more coverage than typical cut-up 3-tab shingles, resulting in fewer pieces to handle and transport on the roof.
Pro-Start starter strips create clean, straight roof edges without the messy appearance of black cement commonly associated with field-cut alternatives. These economical starter strips help maintain jobsite cleanliness while reducing landfill waste by eliminating shingle scraps typically created during manual cutting operations.
